Default Using Device Switch from 8100 to 7100g

Please Login to Remove!

I first got a 7100g. Used BBM and other stuff on it. Then I switched to the 8100; all settings got transferred. But then I had some trouble with the 8100, so I switched back to the 7100g, but I realised that my BBM contacts didn't get transferred. Turns out that the 8100's BBM version is higher than the 7100g's version, so I couldn't get over any contacts.

Is there a way to switch and transfer new BBM contacts back to the old one?

Wirelessly posted (Lets Go Canes!)

I know with BBM 5.0 you can restore wirelessly. I am not sure if your phone enables BBM 5.0. Unless you had a backup, my sense is you would otherwise have to attain manually.

You could try using switch device wizard instead of a simple backup of one and restore to the other. I don't know if it will make any difference; but maybe worth a try if you didn't do it that way before.

FYI, the safe thing to do is store the contact in your address book with their PIN #. Put a notation in the notes that it is a BBM contact. Or create a catagory. Then if something like this happens in the future, search on the notation to find the BBM contacts again, or filter on the category, and add back to BBM.

When you eventually get a device on which to run the latest BBM, you'll be able to do a wireless backup as AK says.
