Gas in Houston has dropped in price in the last week. Is this happening all over the US?

I paid $ 3.29 this evening in the Copperfield area of west Houston. There is a gas war going on between a Shell station, a Chevron station and one of the Kroger stores here. This is at the intersection of 529 (Spencer) and North Eldridge for those nearby.

I am half expecting hell to freeze over. I did not get a hot dog.

$3.39 here in Central VA. And heading down. That's not a price war price, either. It's been dropping a nickel to a dime every couple of days.

Default Gas War in Houston.

This morning (Saturday 8/23) the Chevron station was 3.18/gal for regular and the Shell station's sign said "One cent cheaper than the Chevron station acroos the street." Diesel is at 3.67/gal.

Location is North Eldridge at Spencer (FM 529) on west side of Houston.

Wow. I'm lucky I guess. Gas here in VA (well my area anyway) seems to be going down. Last week it was about $3.87 today it was $3.37 and going down. Lucky us!

The cheapest I've seen here in the Sacramento area is $3.69 -- most are in the $3.70's and 3.80's. It's going in the right direction, as they say.

Wirelessly posted (By Super Blackberry)

What brand of hot dogs are they? I look at my local convenience store and only see the 99 cent ones and the 1.29 jalopinoe cheese ones. I'm kinda getting upset cause I'm the only one that hasn't had one.

That was a very well written piece. OPEC I think still has a fair amount to do with prices as well but you did a great job with his post.

Thank YOu

Non-American Alert !!!Non-American Alert !!!Non-American Alert !!!

This gets me every time I go to the States, and once I have spent all my change I forget again.

What is a dime worth?
What is a nickel worth?

Ta!

10 pennies/5 pennies. Not sure that there is an exact equivalent, but I think the relationship is something like a pound is to a 10p as a dollar is to a dime.

does that make sense?

Now if you were just being sarcastic, then I missed the point entirely!
