i won a brand new BB 8120 in that contest. I recived my phone in hopes of having a nice toy to hold me over till the bold. I used to have an 8700g that still works but is all scrtached and such. Anywas the problem is the memory i did the optimizing and all and i got 20 mb but slowly it goes away and i have nothing running and nothing i went to play basket ball with out using it an dleft it in the car and it went from 18.1 mb to about 16.7 mb randomly, i had only 1 missed call and 1 text, mind you have barley anything on it and a media card. what can be causing this

Some memory loss like that is normal as the device runs. Is it running down to 0? What 3rd party apps do you have installed?

You shouldn't have to. If you have 20Mb free, you should be fine. It may run down at times but I wouldn't worry too much until it gets less than 10. It's a good idea to reboot it once a week anyway.

Do you have a memory card for pictures? Every device is different on memory useage as every device has different apps. It's normal to see the memory run down a few meg after using for a bit.

now its down to 15.6 4.5 mb of just run down memory is a lot, i mean i havent installed anything new. i have been floating around 16.2 but now its dropped to 15.6 and thats from the starting 20 after a reboot!

i have checked other bb's curves and 8800 from sprint and they seem to be between 11 and 15 so it seems im doing good but their memory free's itself with out a reboot

That's not that out of the ordinary. If it goes to less than 10 I'd be worried. What theme are you using?

Why would you install themes if you have a problem with memory? Do you use "Switch Application" a lot from the home screen?
