Default new trackball wont work!

Please Login to Remove!

my ring broke so i decided to get a new trackball and ring. it's for my 8310 and the trackball does fit in. however, it's still getting stuck. i checked out how to clean the trackball and such, but because it's a new set, its clean. i'm even having some difficulties placing the ring and getting it to snap in... i know it's pretty fragile so i dont want to snap it in w force..
should i clean the base of where the trackball sits and if i should, what should i clean it with, in terms of water or solution of something? i know to use a q tip..
should i clean the sensor?

TIA

What do you mean by stuck? Does the trackball not roll smoothly? If the back of the trackball assembly is not against some surface it doesn't roll well since it gets pushed down too far into the housing. It should sit so only the top of the ball is above the level of the phone face. If it's up higher, it's not in correctly.

Particularly if it doesn't work and you're having problems with the ring, I think it's not all the way in. It shouldn't take force, it just drops down. So try taking it out and looking for something blocking it. Also try turning it 1/4 turn before putting it back in.

It's not hard to put back in. Taking apart the assembly to get literally to the ball itself is a pain, but installation of the assembly isn't.
