Default 5.0.0.438 for my 8330 SUCKS

Please Login to Remove!

I love this OS.. love the changes and improvements, but this phone just isn't good enough to handle it. Locks up seems like every hour, on the hour, and i have NO storage room. I can't add any new apps, and I actually had to remove a few I loved just to use the phone.

How hard to downgrade? I have a copy of 4.5.0.295/4.5.0.175 saved on my PC still.. do I just run it the same as if i were upgrading?

RIM really missed the boat on this one? :(

I just downgraded back to .175 today as well. Was experiencing terrible lag/hourglassing. The memory leak was too much for me to deal with. I hated it when I had the 8830 and I was glad I didn't have to really worry about it on the 8330 until 5.0.

Good deal. Going to downgrade now. Thanks!

Same here, can't handle the memory leaks and the constant hourglass.

I'm running the hybrid and it's going great. I love the 5.0 OS.

5.0.0.438 runs fantastic on my 8330 from Sprint. The threaded text messaging, vastly improved audio player, and ability to load the new Sirius/XM app make it more than worthwhile. Personally, I found 4.5 to be the absolute worst - slow and no added features from 4.3.

Occasionally I'll see the memory getting low, but it's rare and when it happens, a reset will do the trick.
