Wirelessly posted (8700c: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Welcome to the forums! If you are a heavy email user you probably would like the full QWERTY keypad; if you don't rely heavy on email go with the SureType. For example I compose 150+ emails a day on BB, the 7130c wouldnot work for me.

On your other question take a look at the search feature of this forum as this question has been answered tons of times. You have three options: 1) Try to setup the tethered optional manually and hope you don't get hammered w/charges, some Cing users can get it to work w/out charges others can't 2) Purchase Sharkmodem, once again search the forums 3) purchase the Cingular tethered plan for like $79 a month.

Hopes this helps, best of luck and again welcome!

Moving to the General Forum...hardly belongs in a rumor mill.

If you're looking at the 7130c, perhaps you'll want to wait another month when the Cingular Pearl comes out...seems like it would be more "bang for the buck".

Choosing between the two is entirely personal preference. Some people like SureType, some can't stand it. I'm in the latter group which is why I have 8700's.
