CDMA versions of GSM devices tend to rollout 6-9mos after the GSM carriers.

Considering the "estimated" release date of the 8800's being in the q2 of 2007, then i would safely say late 2008, early 2009.

Till then, im happy with the 8700. 2 years gives me enough time ot use and abuse my current phones and wait for these guys to come out! Im on sprint, so i have patience lol!

From posts like these, aren't you people with GSM carriers just grateful that you have a GSM carrier? Ha, I know I am. Oh, for those of you Sprint CDMA users who don't know, tired of sprint? Wanna get out of your sprint contracts for free? Sprint has just raised their text-msging rates from .10/msg to .15/msg. Thats a change in your contract without notification. Because Sprint did this, this allows any sprint user to cancel their contract for "FREE" until the "THE END OF THIS MONTH." So if you wanna com'on to T-Mobile with me, Cingular with others, or Verizon for suckers, without damaging your pocketbooks or wallets for a $150 termination fee, you better call this number here, +1 (888) 567-5528, before the 31st.

Actually:

1. Sprint did send notification in Aug and Sept bills regarding the change
2. The rate hike only affects those on pay-as-you-go or casual messaging - users on standard text messaging plans are not affected
3. Users not using casual messaging can not cancel just because of the change - only if they are truly affected.
