By router, do you mean the T-Mobile @ Home Hotspot?

A friend of mine who works for TMO (he trains the folks in the stores) emailed me:

"MSRP is going to be about $375 at launch. This device will be more than the Cingular version because of the extra features. "

FWIW.

Wirelessly posted (8100: BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

375 full price? Because the full price on ATT is 449.99

Thus meaning cheaper

The HTC Tilt w/ Blackberry Connect is looking more and more appealing. RIM is getting me mad!!!!
Thats your opinion.I want wifi not gps. I know how to get around town in Houston And with blackberry connect you dont get the full bb experience.

If its "too slow" will you be able to make use of a UMA connection? Or might it might be a poor connection?

Yes, I concur completely. I've been making my husband check everyday to make sure it's still the titanium and not the gold. So far so good, 4 days to go! w00t!

It will work on any open Wifi network, if you have to log on (e.g., in a hotel), my understanding is that it either won't work, or you will have to log on with the browser (which will be a second charge from the hotel wifi if you log on with your laptop too). I also found out that if you are on a wifi network overseas, call a US number, it is free. However, long-distance applies when dialing international numbers. So, you could be in the absurd situation of getting to make free calls to the US, but paying for calls to make a dinner reservation two blocks away.

I had planned on using this at the office as a replacement for my office phone, until I realized I would have to pay t-mobile's very expensive international long-distance rates.

I Can't wait to get the Curve, don't get me wrong the Pearl is nice because its small and i can barley feel it when I carry it around, but I want the full keyboard and the Wifi.

Now even tho I don't subscribe to the @Home Hotspots I can still connect to Wifi and it'll just burn minutes right?

Also is the 25th a confirmed date? I asked the Tmobile rep when i picked up the pearl but he said within the next couple of weeks..

As has been posted in countless threads today (sigh) without the H@H plan you get data and voice (only) counts against your minutes.

It actually started being sold Friday.

For voice only though - right. Is H@H's only benefit that you can make voice calls over WiFi? It has no bearing on internet surfing via WiFi correct? And at Starbucks - if I have hot spot I can use my hot spot with my blackberry to surf but not make phone calls.

OK up to the last sentence. I have a Hotspot account but not H@H. After logging in at Starbucks (and Borders) I was able to make calls.

And these were "no minutes" calls?

The only way to get no minutes calls is with the H@H plan.
The calls made at Starbucks using the Hotspot plan go against your plan minutes.

okie dokie. That makes sense, bottom line is you can make calls w/out the H@H plan it just takes away from your minutes.

OK - so with hotspot at Starbucks you can surf via wifi faster than Edge but all calls will be with minutes. That is fine.

Skype for blackberry would make all of this so irrelevant.
