Default reset difference pls

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Could anybody tell me, what is the difference between these two reset methods and which one is better and why ?
1) Power off the blackberry device and remove battery for 30 seconds
2) Remove battery for 30 seconds while power is on.

If we remove the battery while Blackberry device is power on , doesn't it hurt the phone?. Isn't it like forced shutdown of computer by pressing power button ?

Thanks

Removing the battery while power is on, best it's a hard reset...1st step to take if device is having problems? - BlackBerryFAQ

turning it off while its powered off does nothing really. Doing a battery pull while on is a hard reset designed by RIM. It will not hurt the device in anyway and will fix most errors.

It's the same thing effectively. Option 1 just takes longer to achieve the same result.
