Recently I am getting "edge" on my phone at home instead of "EDGE". What is the difference between these two. Is there any difference in speed between these two ?.
I am NOT able to connect to internet using my internet browser when on "edge", but I can able to connect internet using opera. I am not clear about what is going on
Is there any tip to make sure I always be on "EDGE"?
edge = No connection to RIM network and BlackBerry services will not function.
EDGE = Connected to RIM network and all BlackBerry services should be working OK.
Thanks for the info. How can I make sure I will get "EDGE" on my phone. Earlier at my home I used to get "EDGE". But yesterday onwards I am only getting "edge". Does anybody know what might be the reason ?
Starting last night I also starting seeing edge on my phone and could not access the internet or send or receive email. About 15 minutes ago, however, it switched back to EDGE and all my emails came through. Must have been a problem on ATT's side because I did not change any settings on my phone.
I was also told that it was the Southeast region, but have heard some complaints from some of my AT&T users that the outage was spreading. Not sure if those issues are from that outage or if its user error.
I am back on EDGE now. It looks like AT&T is working on the issue. In between I tried do the register network from below link. Answer Center | AT&T, formerly Cingular
I am not sure whether it is required or not, I just register as per above steps.
What does the register do actually ??
It will re-register you with the network. Not necessary in this issue, but good for you to know in the future as a way to troubleshoot no network connectivity with your BB.
