Default Blackberry Curve Photo Numbering?

Please Login to Remove!

I have the new blackberry curve...loving it. Quick question: When I use the camera featuer, it automatically keeps naming each photo a number that increases by one with each photo (even after i have deleted all the photos). So, for example, if I have taken 10 photos (they will be named 0001 through 0010 for ex) once I delete them, the next photo will be named 0011, and so on and so forth. Why doesn't it start with photo 0001 again after I have deleted all the other photos? At this rate, it will keep numbering each photo I take ad infinitum, no matter if I have deleted all prior photos or not. Sorry if this is confusing, but any help appreciated.

Hi,
That's just how the cam software is configured. It kinda helps you keep track of how many photos you've taken.

The counter will only reset after an OS upgrade.

For me this is a very good feature. I take a fair amount of pictures of whiteboards for later reference. I don't want all those cluttering up my phone so I move them off. If the numbering started all over again I would have to open each picture, figure out what it shows, decide if I already have it and rename it.

No, he mistyped the device model in his profile.
