I'm going egypt and im wondering how to get bbm out there? I'm going for 2 weeks & do i top up £5 before i go? All I want to do is chat to my friends while im out there. Not going to use the internet or receive pictures etc. I'm going in 4 days, thanks

You seem to be asking carrier-related questions about roaming...

Your blackberry will roam anywhere there are roaming agreements between your carrier and the countries carriers.

As for costs associated, you will need to contact your network service provider.

If you do not want to use any data while roaming and potentially saving money, you can switch your Data Services to "<I>Offf While Roaming</I>". This can be achieved by going into Network Connections and using Data Services, While Roaming switching it OFF.

I am not sure if this applies to an OS 6 device, but RIM changed it somewhere around 7.x.x.xxx so that you can still continue to receive BBMs, etc while your 'Data Services' are turned off. Also make sure that 'While Roaming is set to 'OFF'. Using available WiFi networks or hotspots to access certain BIS services.

Please check with your carrier as Medic mentioned above, as I am not sure if that applies to all carriers or plans. You can always test it right now, by turning Data Services to Off and connecting to your home/school/work WiFi and sending a test BBM and mail to someone.

£5 will not be enough for roaming even if your carrier allows you to do so on PAYG.
