Default SMS time issue

Please Login to Remove!

I've noticed that when I view my SMS text conversations, the time associated with an incoming text is exactly 2 hours behind, but the time associated with an outgoing text is correct. The issue also seems to only be present when viewing an SMS conversation. When I open up the SMS folder, the times listed for each text are correct. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have an 8130 for verizon.

Many times, doing a simple reset (pulling the battery while powered on, and replacing) will solve many issues. I don't know if it will fix yours, but worth a try.

But it is. A friend called Tmob about not getting MMS pix some time ago. The CS rep she talked to said it was a network issue, we're working on it. The rep I spoke to the same day knew nothing about that.

I know when I text someone on Nextel It's a crap shoot when they will get it and when I will receive a reply from them. I could be sitting right next to them and they won't get it til two hours later.

You know I was mostly kidding.

Network issues will happen. I sent my son an SMS last night from my AT&T BB to his TMo Samsung POS. It took 45 minutes. Where's the slowdown: my BB, AT&T, TMo or Samsung? Or him for not looking quick enough? lol

I can tell that my issue is not related to my network. I have verizon and texting is almost instantaneous. It seems that my problem is just the incoming time stamp, which is only incorrect when viewing the whole SMS conversation. I can also tell you that the phone I had about a year ago, would often take a long time to send and recieve texts, which suggests that the phone was at fault and not the network. I dont know about other networks, but when I had that problem with my old phone, I called customer support and they did a firmware upgrade over the network which after a couple of tries, fixed the problem.

No, not Tmob. The Vzn people claim they can do a "firmware update" OTA but all it does is update the celltowers that the phone sees. Nothing changes on the phone and it takes about a minute. Truly updating your OS like we do on Tmob takes a pc and 15-30 minutes. With VZN phones they never update the OS on the phones, at least not during the 6 years I was with them using Moto phones. BBs are different.

I have been experiencing the same problem on almost an every other day basis. I've come to grips with the fact that it may just be the carrier.
