RSS and 9700: What is the best way to read RSS on 9700? What feeds do you read?

RSS and 9700: What is the best way to read RSS on 9700? What feeds do you read? Is there a third party app or website to subcribe to RSS and then read on the 9700? Is there any windows based solution to track/subscribe to RSS to then read on 9700? Thanks for any tips as I have not used RSS.

You are going to have to find what works best for you. Some feeds can be followed and read on the blackberry browser. Take a look at Viigo for an application that has a feed reader. Also look at Bloglines for a web and mobile web solution. Skweezer is another web and mobile solution.
Take a look at the web sites, blogs and news sites that you visit, and look for RSS or feed links. Also, both Viigo and Bloglines have the capability to search for feeds.
And don't forget to update you blackberryforums profile.

For heavy Google Reader users (RSS on a computer), Viigo is not an option because it does not do a two way sync with Google Reader. Google provides mobile web access to Google Reader but I find it nearly unusable with the bundled Blackberry browser as the print is tiny and it is very slow.
So until someone comes out with a two way syncing RSS app, my makeshift solution is:
Install BOLT browser
Open Google Reader and log in (and leave logged in)
Keep BOLT on the Google Reader page always
To access RSS, open BOLT, hit refresh, and it updates in 3-9 seconds.
With Bolt, I have magnification set at 3XLarge (in Preferences) and the text for Google Reader reflows to fit the screen. That is the killer feature of this browser in comparison with the Blackberry browser, and the modestly faster reload speed also helps.
In experimenting with BOLT, reflow doesn't work so well with more complex web sites but for single column sites like Google Reader (the mobile version), it works great and while not super fast, it's fast enough (and certainly faster than the Blackberry browser).
If there is one thing that would make Bolt turn from good to awesome for me - it would be if there was an option to automatically refresh the screen in the background every so often (10 minutes? 20 minutes?). Then every time I went to Google Reader, I wouldn't have to hit refresh and wait a few seconds.
Of course, what I'd much rather have is a Blackberry browser that is 10x faster than the current generation - or if I can't have that, then a good RSS app for Google Reader. I'm amazed that such an app does not yet exist, given the large and rapidly growing number of blackberries out there.

Berry Review just posted on how to use Google Reader's iPhone interface on a Blackberry:

It is a very nice looking interface but very slow. As mentioned in the post, it doesn't work completely. But it turns out you CAN mark all as read by clicking on the link at the very bottom of the screen.

I changed my mind about buying this app - it's not working consistently - I frequently get the error message "Failed to download the requested data. Got wrong response code from the server."
If it can be made more stable, I'll buy it.

I'm back to using the browser Bolt for Google Reader. Bolt upgraded to 1.7 last night and it's way faster, like 3x-5x faster - for Google Reader on the 9700! All of a sudden I really like using the Google Reader web app - so long as it is with Bolt 1.7.
Here again is what you need to do:

On BOLT 1.7, I'm finding it is not faster with 3G and EDGE. WiFi is blazing fast - so I guess the BOLT developers managed to optimize BOLT 1.7 for WiFi.

Currently Bolt 1.7 browser with the Google Reader web app is plenty fast and works fine - so long as I'm using WiFi.

I find that Bloglines has the best mobile interface. It is very, very fast, fully functional and is fully synced with the full version.
I like it A LOT better than Google Reader. Give it a try..

I posted about Google Reader RSS app "Unread" earlier in this thread. Improvements have been made since then so that it no longer has connection problems - so I finally bought it and have been using it daily for the last week. Two improvements I'm hoping for are offline caching and enabling the space bar shortcut (page down) - the developer has plans to implement both. Other than that it's great.
