Contacts not syncing wirelessly
Please Login to Remove!
BB7520, 4.0.0.160, Desktop Manager 4.0, BES 4.0
Wireless syncing is enabled on the BES. Email and Calendar work fine. Contacts do not.
I tried looking under "Options" for a "Wireless Sync" entry, but there isn't one. Found one under both Email and Calendar.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Make sure it's enabled in BES Manager and an address book is selected maybe?

It's enabled on the BES. There's also an address book selected. When I plugged by Blackberry in and ran Intellisync / Configure PIM it gave me a popup that said Tasks and Memos will be disabled, b/c they're configured to sync wirelessly. No mention of Contacts, however.
Thinking back, I used to keep all my Personal contacts in a subfolder. I did a Desktop sync once to get these onto the Blackberry, which then synced them wirelessly w/ Outlook (thus, duplicating them in Contacts.) I deleted all of the duplicates, and to avoid this in the future, I just started keeping them all in Contacts, and then filtering by "Business" and "Personal." Somewhere around that time, Contact syncing stopped.

How long has it been since you activated the device? Sometimes it can take hours to sync up the addy book.

Yes, doublecheck the user account in Blackberry Handheld Config Tool that the device has been enterprise activated. If you do not see the handheld model and info and only see the PIN, then it needs to be activated.

You are on the right track i think it has something to do with combining the two contact locations. Just keep in mind BES 4.0 will not wirelessly sync public folder contacts.

I have activated this particular handheld several times, and I can't get the contacts to synch either...

I did the same ... and my synching stopped as well.

Still no luck on my end. To answer a previous question, I activated this device 2 months ago.
Do you think resending the service books would help? Other than that, I'm out of ideas. I could always reinstall the handheld software.

contacts not syncing
when you say you did the activation are you referring to wireless activation?
If so have you tried to delete the Desktop sync service book then wait a few seconds and undelete?
I have had users try this and it has worked for me.

I'm referring to the wireless Enterprise activation. I'll try deleting the service book and report back.

Update: That didn't work. However, I installed the BES Small Business today (to replace the 90 day trial I was running on) and that solved the problem.
I'm assuming the new BES had to re-activate all the BBs and send new service books, encryption keys, etc. Not really the solution I was looking for, but I'll take what I can get.

I had the exact same issue with a user on our BES.
I tried resending the service book, and that didnt work...
I wiped the handheld, and re-added the user to the BES, wireless enterprise activated, and all was well...
I called T-support that's what they suggested...and it worked...
