I've honestly never seen it. My RIM and AT&T contacts have been mum on the subject (AT&T won't even acknowledge a model number, which I find humorous). I know a couple people who have handled it, but unfortunately I likely won't for another month or so.

Fine, out of respect of my source. I didn't really want to say anything. He's currently trouble shooting it, they just recently worked out the bugs with respect to the over heating issue with the battery, no touchscreen, thats guaranteed. It will have wifi, video capture and a much better O/S. This version is more geared to a "real PDA", as per my source. Can't remember anymore than that. He wouldn't let me take a pic of it. He said it would be out by fall, a lot of kinks still has to be worked out with respect to software.

Apparently they will have other versions out soon after this one is released. But didn't want to get into it as it wasn't set in stone.

Real PDA? What about the current BB models is it that prevents them from being a "real PDA?"

Lets see...

Email? Yup, got it. Best of breed too if you ask me.
Sync capable calendar? Yeah, got that too.
Memo/Note pad that also syncs? Yup, thats in there...
In depth address book? Nope... oh wait, there it is, it was hiding, sorry about that.
Plethora of 3rd party apps available in the forms of expense trackers, productivity tools, time management tools, entertainment tools, games, etc? Oh, yeah.. they are there too.
I got it! No document saving, editing, or creating! Wait... There are 3rd party solutions for this too...

Ok, I give up. Please, what is it that I am missing that makes the BlackBerry less of a "real PDA?"

Side note. Your source sucks. My source is the numerous BlackBerry and tech websites across the internet, and I knew everything you just wrote. There is a difference between "forgetting," and not actually knowing anything past the already common knowledge.

everything that was said, your "source" probably got from either BBF or from Jibi on BGR. The "better" OS is just a beta OS at this point, from what i could tell it isnt even much different than the 4.5 Betas that are out now. I say all hail Jibi! (random but accurate)
