Default 8930 coming to Verizon in 2009?

Please Login to Remove!

I know it took a year to get the 8330 on vzw after all the gsm carriers had their curve, so I'm not expecting much. Has anyone heard anything about an 8930 for vzw?

The latest we have on CDMA devices.

RIM Internal Documents specify xxx8220;Niagaraxxx8221; and xxx8220;Apexxxx8221; CDMA BlackBerrys | BlackBerryNews.com

Is 8930 the model number for the Niagara?

Verizon will get a new version of the new Curve. But it will be late '09.

I am getting tired of my 8830 and am hesitant to get involved with the Storm, I may need to say goodbye to verizon.

I agree, I got tired of my 8830 fast. I am kinda tired of my 8330 already, in all honesty... There's not much difference, I mean there is. But not much of an upgrade from an 8830 to 8330... I can't wait for a new BB, I may order a Palm Treo 800w. Just to try something different and to experiment, since BB is the only smartphone I owned.

I'm kind of tired of my 8330, but it's still a great device. I just don't think I could leave Verizon. In my area, it's really head and shoulders above any other carrier for coverage. AT&T is decent, but nowhere close to Verizon.

A replacement for the 8830 is coming in early '09.

vzw is so hopelessly behind with things. By the time they launch the 8930, the Magnum will probably already be here...

I think I may be uninterested in RIM by the time Sprint comes out with a new bb

The Storm being the exception, I would say you're on target with vzw (and Sprint, for that matter) being late to the game with BB devices. The network in my area though is so good, it far outweighs my need to have the latest device before the gsm carriers. Would love to see the new Javelin on Verizon asap, but I'll make do with my 8330 until then...

That is the only reason I stayed with AT&T for so long, because all the new devices came out there first. Finally got so frustrated with the service in my area I had to make a switch (storm helped my transition as well though).

I agree without the network coverage, the phone could be a 10xxxx, and it wont matter

It looks like the Niagara is going to be model 9030.
