Default 8300 A2DP Quality sucks

Please Login to Remove!

Hey, just got a hold of my Curve. Paired it up with all of my various stereo BT set-ups (Plantronics 520, Jabra 320, Motorola Mufs, Scoche Car Kit). All have this weird watery effect on high frequency sounds (schoch is particularly bad, but it's also amplified). Doesn't matter which quality of MP3 or anything. It's just really annoying and curious as to whether or not anyone else has had this problem. Need some help here, cause it's driving me up the wall!

Unhappy

I too have the S9s, and I'm getting a poor sound from the curve. Its a rattle like a busted tweeter. I hooked up the iTouch w/ a bluetooth adapter to troubleshoot the S9s and it sounded great. Gotta be something in the curve.

Anyone else here that...its a rattling sound?

I've tried reducing and increasing the bitrate on transfer to the curve, both to no avail...

Okay, I have now tried A2DP on 3 Curves. 2 8300's and 1 8310...

All of them blow a goat as for A2DP. Glad I spent $80 on those S9s...grrrrr!!!!

Same problem here with the 8820, all other devices tried so far work flawlessly but the cymbals and other high sounds on the BB are distorted.

I have the 8120 and use the bluetooth connection with the Ford SYNC and have no quality issues. I fact, I was suprised it worked so well. I did have a lower quality Bluetooth device (ROADTALK) and that just was horrible...

Has anyone found a solution to this? I have a Motorola Rokr T505 Bluetooth car kit and I have the same "distorted" sound on higher frequencies. I thought it was the Motorola unit, but when I use the wired headphones it sounds fine. I haven't had an opportunity to try any other Bluetooth devices, but from the above, it would appear that it is related to the BB and not the car kit. I should note that this is on an 8830 w/ OS 4.2.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm I've got the 8830 running 4.2.2.196 and occasionaly stream music threw BT Stereo Gateway the quality is pretty I haven't had any real problems with it. (Of course it a $500 stereo system lol)

Is this a problem with the 8330 since I am probably going to be upgrading to an 8330 soon.

Apparently the issue has been fixed with the latest v4.5 releases, hope to test it shortly.

I just installed a Motorola t605 and noticed the crackling tweeter noise described above. Plugged my mp3 player into the aux in to check if it was the t605 and it sounded much cleaner. It must have been my BB8830. I do not have any other a2dp devices to try.

Can anyone confirm that 4.5 did in fact address this issue? I'm not upgrading if not.

I tried the 4.5.0.77 beta on my 8830 and the distortion was still there. Really wish I could find a solution on this. I wonder if it is something between the blackberry and Motorola units?

My T-Mo branded 8320 with v4.5.0.81 still sounds like absolute garbage streaming to my Motorola T605 car unit.

If I turn down the volume about 2 times from the max on the Curve itself, turn On Audio Boost, use the Dance headset equalizer & turn up the bass on my car's head unit, I can get decent sound quality for certain songs. But some still have that "busted tweeter" sound to them.

Is this just the nature of A2DP itself or do these Blackberries just suck at it?? Its like its compressing it all to hell.
