Happy Superbowl Everyone!

Okay, so I am a blackberry noob. Big time. I had a pearl 8100 for a few days, I bought it to sell it but used it in the mean time and loved it. Always been a sony ericsson guy, and the iPhone took a lot of my time too. But I was sold on the pearl, so I sold it to get a curve.

I always knew that the BB Plan was a big deal, But I dont need it. I dont use internet frequently on the go, And dont send emails on the go. I usually do all that when Im home or on any wi-fi connection. But, when I connect to the wi-fi network at my home, I cant surf? It thinks im using it for UMA strictly which I am not. Whenever I try to surf, It takes me to the Tmobile web2go page. (I dont have any type of internet plan)..

So, Whats exactly the issue? Like I said above, I dont know much about these phones. Am I not able to surf even though im on Wi-Fi? Is that what the blackberry plans are about??

Most likely your carrier also requires you to have a BB data plan to use WiFi. Check with T-Mo or wait until someone with T-Mo service can pop on and provide some more insight.

Dubdub, you are wrong. @OP: To browse WiFi, go to Browser Options, General Properties, and set it to either Hotspot browser if you are on OS 4.5 or WiFi browser if you're on OS 4.2.

To clarify..

The 8320 will support wifi connections once a SIM card is in the phone. it doesn't even have to be active.

If there's no SIM, wifi will not work.

You do need to set the BB browser to accept WiFi connections, and a great alternative for WiFi only browsing is to download opera mini, through your WAP browser.
