Question 8320 Not receiving emails anymore! Need some help!

Please Login to Remove!

I've got an 8320 via T-Mobile and about a week or so ago I just stopped receiving emails and facebook notifications. I didn't change any settings, everything used to work fine.

So I called T-mobile, they had me try a few things to no avail, but then said "Ohh, I see what the problem is... the blackberry network is having a blackout and they are trying to fix it"

I have other friends with various BB models and service providers and theirs all work so what, if anything, can I do? I kinda need to get my emails on the go instead of checking then at home on AOL.

Anybody have any insight? IS there a blackout? I've been poking around online trying to find something about it and haven't seen anything.

Please help

They had you do a hard re-set?
Pull the battery while the phone is on. Leave the battery out of thirty seconds. Then re-boot the phone.

There's no blackout. I have been using a T-Mobile 8900 all day. Could be a local problem, but it is likely your device or account provisioning.

Could it be a "local" networking blackout?

What else can I try?

Did try sending the service books or setting the email account up all over again?

You didn't cancel your BlackBerry data plan recently, did you? Or try to go back to using t-zones?

Perhaps after the reset you need to re-enter your TCP info. Options > Advanced Options > TCP

For T-Mobile is should be:

APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: (blank)
Password: (blank)

I had a similar problem with my curve. My phone is through Rogers, and the simple solution had to do with email passwords.

If your email account is NOT a blackberry email account you MUST re enter your passwords every 90 days or the email is permentantly blacked out. Go into "email settings" on your phone, scroll down to existing users, if you remember the name and password you used when you set up your account type it in. If not your Service Provider should have noticed that was the problem and reset your password - call them back and get them to help you with that.

Once that step is finished, follow the directions, enter in all the email addresses and passwords and you should be fine for another 90 days. Just remember the re-enter those passwords every few months!

I hope this helps!!

Nothing worked... this is really putting a bad taste in my mouth in regards to BB. I'd hate to be a sellout and buy an iPhone

I've never had to reenter the password, as was suggested by the OP and I've had my curve for over a year, as well as a pearl, my wifes curve and a 7310...

You said you did resend the service books, correct? Did you do it from your phone or from a computer? If you have resent the service books, did you receive notification on your phone that they were successfully sent?

You also said you had an issue with Facebook, that's an existing problem that, I believe has been fixed. But your issue has to do with both personal emails AND fb, correct?

I would suggest that you call tmo and have them re-register your phone with the blackberry network, there may have been an issue and you just need to reregister your phone.

PROBLEM SOLVED!.....

Manage Internet Mail>Help>"not receiving emails?">Send Service Books...

Now my phone is blowing up with all my emails and facebook notifications and myspace notifications.

Thanks to everyone for their insight... just one of those things I guess.
