Default DST Patch question??

Please Login to Remove!

Howdy folks,

Dont know if this question was asked before or not, i wasnt able to find it.

We are pushing the DST Patch through our BES via wireless, thus far 100% success (mind you we only got 16 total blackberries). My question is: When we start to purchase new blackberries, lets say 2 months from now, will i still have to apply the patch?

Any help would be much appreciated

Depends on how long the device sat on the shelf at the ISP. I would recommend you continue to push the patch at least until the end of the year.

What is more work... continuing to push the patch or dealing with a user who is screaming because they missed a meeting due to their calendar being off by 1 hour?

I contacted Cingular. We have over 2300 Blackberry users in our company. We usually use the 8700c from Cingular and the 7100 series from Nextel. The DST patch does need to pushed through BES on the new installs.

Sweet, thanks. I'll probably do the year thing. Just got a Pearl and pushed the patch to it, almost immediately it bounced back stating that it was upto date. Also got an 8700 and that one still required it, so it looks like a hit/miss thing.

We just got a bunch of rogers 8700s with 4.1.0.284 not the current 4.1.0.351 so I'd say they've been on shelf awhile.

New Blackberries should have the updated firmware installed, otherwise the patch needs to be applied before distribution to the users.
As an alternative, with the small number of BB you have, you can always try to update the firmware which patch device to prevent you from having to push the patch OTA.
