I just got my storm, for the first week vibrate only was silent, no ring when recieving a call. the other day I changed my wifes ring and now vibrate only doesen't work (it rings). the setting for the ring is active profile. I even tried to go back to the original ring , no good. thanks

I've had this happen a few times too -- including this afternoon. Usually a battery pull will get things squared away. That said, I have no idea why it happens.

It happens to me as well. I believe that it is a bug in the OS that hasn't been resolved yet. It doesn't matter whether you have the contact set to active profile or not, the sound will still come through when you have the profile set to vibrate.

Hopefully one of the upcoming betas will address this issue.

i also had this same problem. the only solution i found was too create a custom sound profile and set everything to vibrate. kind of a pain, but it works.

thanks all. the solution I found is to delete the contact then reenter all the info and leave the ringer on the default. boring but safe.

Create a new file for the contact ring. Set to vibrate but make the ringer silent or zero

Yea, prob repeating but , if you default a contact to a certain ringtone, that person/conctact will ring if you select the vibrate mode, in order for this to take place you must select volume for to ACTIVE PROFILE. I personally have a few contacts that I set the volume to 8 so when I put on vibrate they will actually ring.
