Default 3 Contact Lists In Contacts-Need To Rename Some?

Please Login to Remove!

I have 3 Contact lists in "Contacts". One is desktop and the other two have same name "unknown". They were from previous phones.
I want to rename two of the matching lists. When I back up and restore it only backs up one of the two folders. I figure if I rename one of them it will back up all three. Can and how can this be accomplished?
Appreciated, thanks.

You phone is activated on a BES I assume, that is only way you can have a "desktop" address book.

You can really only manage 1 address on your BlackBerry. The 2 unknowns really should not be there.

I am on BIS, but I had three addresses after installing Gmail and Yahoo. After I removed these 2, I had 2 unknowns. That was why I suggest wipe clean which removed the unknowns.

Did you happen to enable the Contact sync with GMail or Yahoo or no?

Yes, I happened to enable with both Gmail and Yahoo. So how do I get rid of the two unknowns. Already tried wipe clean, sending books, get BB verified, etc

Please go to "Removing Specific Contract List" under General Blackberry Discussion where I discussed, commented, argued, and now have found the cause of the issue. Now, how do we uninstall Gmail Plug-In?

It's part of the OS nowadays.

The CODs will need to be removed from the OS install and the application loader will have to be re-run.

As far as what CODs are part of the GMail plugin I do not know.

I didn't uninstall it, but I did work around it using the following advice from paulsdv on another forum:

Here is a way to do it without using 3rd part apps… seems to put it back to how it was before BIS 3.0

Go into email setup and delete your gmail address, once it is gone still in the email settings…

Click on add and choose other (not gmail)

Type in an email address [email address]
And type in any password

Click next
Itll warn you that the data you entered was not correct
But after that it will let you input your own settings, in this screen you can change the email address to [email address]
Supply your password
Server is imap.gmail.com
Username is [email address] (full thing with @gmail.com)

Once this is done it will have added your email account but not added it using the advanced gmail plugin and as such it will act and feel like it has up to now.

Still no 2 way read sync, but at least when you archive using the web, it will update the blackberry inbox too.

Hope this helps
