Default "mobile device connection failure"

Please Login to Remove!

Twice I have sent texts, only to have them fail to send, with a resultant error message that the mobile device failed. ???

The icon that shows service bars is still strong, so I think I have a signal, but when i check under Manage Connections/Service Status, it indicates that the phone is not connected.

One time I remained unconnected for a full four minutes and then it worked. The second time I did a battery pull (and had to wait four minutes for it to reboot) and everything was fine.

Any clues?

Is your data signal 1XEV or 1xev? If it's 1xev then your data connection is not active. I can type up the instructions but it's easier to call Verizon Tech support and they should help you out with registering your device and downloading the service books. Takes all but 10 minutes at the most.

Thanks Matty,

I have resent service books and have a connection now, but I was more curious as to how this happens. I have never had "bars" showing and yet not been connected. Or if I had, switching the mobile connections on/off restored it. These times I was dead until service books were resent.

Default Sprint Data problem 1xev vs 1XEV

I'm having data connection problems too. I can go all day and not have nay issues. Then without warning the device is found in the lower case 1xev mode (no data). This has lasted for upwards of 1.5 hours. I end up going into manage connections and disable/enable the Mobile Network.

I've spent more than 1 hour 3 days in a row with Sprint technicians. We have removed the battery and replaced (they are excited when that works), wiped the device and left without any additional apps loaded or restored - at least overnight that worked but I had to sync my contacts the next morning and problem re-appeared.

I now have a replacement of the same device. The problem appeared within 24 hours of activation. I'm suspect that it will continue but this is only day one of the new device.

I'm wandering how this will work when I'm traveling off the 3G network - will I have data?

Has anyone else run into this issue of no data for hours without a manual disable/enable of the connection ... I thought for certain it was the first device?
