You'll find the forums tend to attract a lot of people who are having issues (they come here to find solutions and to commiserate). I work in an organization that just switched about 25 people from the old 7100i model to the new 8350i and none of us are having the major issues people are talking about here. That's not to say others aren't experiencing them, but not everyone is affected. MMS/SMS works fine on ours, we haven't had any data/email issues, DirectConnect works fine, WiFi works great, etc.

I think there are some design/architectural issues that everyone is struggling with (DC doesn't seem to work with Bluetooth, iDEN data speeds are really slow, it does MMS not SMS, etc), but (for me) those have not detracted from the usefulness of the phone.

DC sucks? iDEN is the only network where PTT is a viable product. As stated above not everyone is experiencing the issues you refer to.

I have a few dozen 8350i's that work as they should. . . some had minor glitches with OS .83. Since upgrading to OS .128, haven't heard any complaint from my users. BT, DC, MMS, email, wi-fi browsing - all work . . .

is the problem with sending/receiving or were you able to pair the devices at all?

Have you made changes to Profiles to suit your needs?

The only gripes I have had was the google maps gps (fixed by google) & the DC icon showing up. (better but not completely resolved)

There have been several posts by people who "switched to this phone" but have no previous experience w/ NEXTEL so they really dont know what they are getting into. The DC works as it should. Everything else appears to be fine since the update or is in the process of being addressed.

For only being out 2 months, I think that is significant progress compared to how long it took to release the device itself!!
