No options for SMS have been added that I can find. I also did not get a new icon for an HTML Browser, but I did get the password keeper icon after installing it through Desktop Manager.

Like others I lost many apps but not all. BBToday was fine as was jmIRC, midpssh and Magmic's Mahjong Solitaire. These others were gone BBlight, REQWireless, wlIRC, Berry411, BlackChat and Stopwatch.

I had to re-pair my HS850 and it is now performing worse than before. Incoming and Outgoing audio is quieter, it's almost unusable at this point.

So far the upgrade has been disappointing.

I also noticed a drop in audio level but didn;t think much of it until your post. My Jabra 250 however was fine....didn't need to repair it. My BBToday however was gone as well as all my third party software after the 319 upgrade.

Ok, I have had the new OS for a day now, and I have had the same basic issues that everyone else has had. But I have noticed one benefit that I don't think anyone else noticed, I am getting slightly better battery life. I don't know if they reprorgammed it to be more efficient or not, but that was just something that I noticed.

I wonder if the drop in audio level that some have mentioned has anything to do with increased battery life.

This is a very good idea. The pictures on your blog seem VERY enticing. Post the file somewhere and let others download it to see if that icon appears on their BB's. It is not uncommon for a company to release a program and then pull it immediately. You may have been the lucky one.

On another note. Do you guys notice a sound quality difference with this new update? It seems that there is more static in the earpiece. I also can hear some faint static in the earpiece when browsing NOL!!! Weird.

Be sure to uninstall the old version of the handheld manager before installing the new version. For what ever reason it will (on occasion) revert back the older version...

If you are missing the any Icon, go through the application loader again and make sure everything got loaded...

I downloaded both upgrades and after the install it prompted me to restart my computer. When I brought it back up, and the softwware started, it notified me of which products were being upgraded. It is upgrading now..will let you know if I see any additional features..

I may have found something here. I went back into the Desktop Manager under the Application Installer and looked closely at the app list. Here is what I found:

http://home.comcast.net/~watson-pa/HTML_Browser.jpg

The Browser option is greyed out and it won't let you change it. wlee309, can you check yours to see what it shows?

Checking now.....my browser is also greyed out. In addition, the Blackberry OS 4.0 System Software and Blackberry 4.0 Core Applications are also greyed out.

Browser is always the core software for the iDEN BlackBerry, that's why it's greyed out. The Nextel Web Browser, the BlackBerry (MDS) browser and future Internet Browser all share the same Browser software...

Again I have upgraded my OS from 3.6 to 4.0 and things changed.

i get an email with an attachment and I mark it for saved, I then delete it
from messages. I then go to saved messages and the message is there but the
attachment is gone. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using a bb 7510 Nextel

Default 7520 & BT800

I can confirm that the new software update does indeed help Bluetooth application. I have a BT 800 and prior to the handheld software update the echo on this was unbearable, even with the volume turned all the way down. I am happy to say that it has gotten better. At the low to mid point on volume I have minimal to some echo, in my SUV the volume down all the way is plenty loud to conduct business, In my convertible with the top up, it has to be at the mid point and, some echo is present.

Down side is I still can’t RELIABLY answer calls with it. It is improved from the last software, which you couldn’t answer the phone at all with the headset. Now I can but I click the answer button 1-3 times, you have to pay attention and listen for the connect tone from the earpiece. I click too many could hang the call up.

One more software upgrade and maybe we can get it correct, HTML, Bluetooth, SMS…….

I'll upload the file onto my blog when I get to work Monday.
