Default Calender Synching

Please Login to Remove!

I'm not a fan of the Calender Program on my bb. But that being said I need to have access to my calender. I have a mac and use ical - that's my main calender - i would like to get that to go to my bb but not the other way around. I've found that some events have gone missing since I started synching both. Is there a way to ensure that my ical will update my bb but not the other way around?

Moving to the Mac Section since the OP appears to be using a Mac.

Are you using the Mac Desktop Manager or another app to sync? There should be a configuration setting so that you go iCal to BB only.

Might look at Google Calendar sync.

Sorry for posting in the wrong spot.

I've been using - BlackBerry Desktop Manager - the only options are for two way sync - which seems to put priority on my bb - or no sync at all... Maybe I'll have a look at google calendar sync though

I use the same setup and on mine there is three options - two way, one way to device, one way to mac. I use two way but the option should be there for you. Might try reinstalling DM

I use Google Sync/Google Calendar to get in between iCal and my BlackBerry. I get wireless calendar sync with no problems. I don't use Google contacts as I've always had issues with dupes and formatting. For contacts I just rely on a local sync.

Google has great step-by-step directions on how to get it up and running. Took about 5 minutes. There is a delay in the syncing process of anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour, but it does work. Great alternative to a hosted BES solution if you don't need all the features BES and don't like the added price.

I'm curious what version of BB Desktop for Mac you are using that gives you three options - mine offers only two options, either two-way or override BB. I would very much like to be able to override the desktop.
I recently installed v1.0.2 and it's the same as it was before.

there is a button on the bottom of the pages that says "replace all information on the blackberry with the information on this computer." Check that box and your computer will replace the blackberry. you need to check this box each time you sync.

As I said, one of the options I see as available is to override the BB - what I was asking the previous poster was where he saw the option to override the desktop.
