The only difference from a user standpoint is DC and Master Radio Reset.

Actually I'll run down the differences right here: (for simplicity's sake I'll say 7500 series even though there was a 6510 model)

7200 series : GSM
7500 series : 800 MHz iDEN

7200 series : Integrated Antenna
7500 series : Visible Antenna required for 800MHz reception

7200 series : GSM Specs can do auto radio reconfigs
7500 series : On occasion a Master Radio Reset is needed to reconfig the radio

7200 series : Full 2 way SMS
7500 series : One way incoming SMS with no info on the sender

7200 series : No PTT
7500 series : Integrated iDEN walkie talkie

I don't agree because there is a difference in the apps that are provided, oh and did I mention GPS. There enough differences in the 7520 between hardware and software apps for it to have its own section.

It would be really nice if there was a way to cross-reference. For instance when you make a post, you put the carrier and model in and it will virtually file it under a Carrier forum, a Model forum, and a Technology forum.

So then you could click on 7500 series and pull up all posts about that, or Nextel and see all posts about that, or Telus Mike.

Think of it like pivot tables but for the forum.

Because I deal with all models across different carriers, I like having everything lumped together.... But that's just me. I personally use a 7520/Nextel but we have a large deployed base of TMO 7230s. Our amount of 7500 series phones has increased gradually over the last year.

I don't think I deal with very many carrier or model specific issues. Most of what I deal with are very general "I'm not getting my mail" "Can you send me the bookmark for the company directory" "My wheel is broken" "I cracked my screen"

I think it's because all things essentially become equal under BES.

I hope that doesn't mean they're planning to drop the 7520. I don't want a 7100 if I drop/step on/flush my 7520.

With NEXTEL for $35 they replace your unit with another one but it has to be the same model.

Guys, Ive been lurking these threads for about a month ago and can't hold out any longer. I mean, I have a Nextel 7520 and admittedly a new BB user. But what's all the hoopla about? Mine works nice and peachy. Admtittedly the SMS thing DAMN annoying but phone service is good, TeleNav is KILLER for a guy who just moved into bay area, pocket day is great, and the most annoying thing is all email messages going into the NEXTEL mailbox which means you cannot filter DIRECTLY in without "filing" individual messages. But other than that, please tell me ... what's wrong with Nextel BB? I'm proud of mine.

Yeah we love em, we just want a place to go for info about either Nextel service or a 7520 section. We are trying to put a limit on Dawgs posts to under 4000 LOL. Oh wait.....too late. Maybe we can keep him under 5G then.

Oh......and Welcome to the plight of the lost and forgotten 7520 users.

LOL, ringtones thats what I hate about the 7520 we cant have any cool ring tones only those gay mono tone ones that sound like a Zylaphone.
