I sent an email to the address on this thread. I'll see what I get back.

Here's the BB support statement:
BlackBerry - BlackBerry | Wireless Handheld Devices, Software & Services from Research In Motion (RIM)

No mention of having to have Yahoo Plus.

But here's a Yahoo page that says one-way sync:
Yahoo! for Blackberry

The latter seems like an old page, and given that I HAD two-way sync working for months ....

My brother, who has had some issues with his Pearl a few months ago provided me with this address for RIM that he had to use to open trouble tix for whatever his issue was.

Quote:
i think this is it: BlackBerry Support <help@blackberry.net>, they will create a ticket on recieving the mail..
Here are two docs that I referred to yesterday as well. They are on BIS v2.3 and v2.4.

BIS 2.3

BIS 2.4

Both more or less stating the following: Improved support for enhanced Yahoo!® Mail

Synchronization of message status

Full two-way immediate synchronization of message status (read and unread) now supported to and from the Yahoo! Mail inbox. For example, if a BlackBerry smartphone user reads an email message from a Yahoo! Mail inbox, the email message is automatically marked as read on the BlackBerry smartphone as well.

Note: Full two-way synchronization of deleted email messages was an added feature with BlackBerry Internet Service 2.2.

Thanks for the email, Red. I'll email RIM as well, and hopefully we'll get some answers on this issue.

Default RIM contact number

I am on a technical support chat from ATT. They are doing some maintenance to my account right now. They gave me this number to call RIM: 8003310500. They said ATT customers do not need a paying support account.

I will also email the other address.

I'll let you know if I get any real help from ATT

Let us know what RIM says... Because it doesn't seem to be a carrier problem but a RIM or yahoo problem. I'm guessing RIM since they did server maintenance over the weekend... So unless yahoo also did some, the only variable that changed is the server maintenance (and it seems like the problem started over the weekend for everyone affected...

I'm not getting two-way sync and emails are coming in sporadically; no longer instantaneous as it has been all along.

I believe this is a Yahoo issue. The same thing happened on my iPhone a couple months ago. I was getting Yahoo email pushed to my iPhone instantaneously and then it stopped. Yahoo blamed Apple; Apple blamed Yahoo. Yahoo has terrible customer support.

I'm using Yahoo Mail Plus and I'm on BIS and BES.

Yahoo Technical Support is 866-562-7219

Option 2 - 1 - 2 - 4 to get technical support.

I suggest that you call.

Default ATT no help

I just wrapped up the chat with ATT. They get an A for effort but no help. I kept asking him to report the problem to RIM but he wasted over an hour of my time setting up new BB Account, sending, reading, deleting emails. He even claimed that there is a 15 minutes cycle that should be expected to get emails on the BB.

Next I will call RIM at the # I posted earlier. For now, I have to get back to work. I hope lots of people will call RIM about this.

Forget it. Mobile device support is only available by email, to which I get a canned response. I'm so tired of paying for something (Yahoo Plus) that has advertised features (two-way sync, instant email) that don't work and no one will take responsibility for it.

I still point my finger at RIM and whatever they changed over the weekend and I am sticking to that. It is not Yahoo (although no one will find out the truth with them with their not-awesome support).

Today, it seems like emails are sent to my BB every 15 minutes or so... as it will send multiple emails at the same time if they were all received by my yahoo account within the last 15 minutes. However, if there is an email to be pushed to the BB, it will then check for new messages in 3 minutes, and if there is a new message, it will push it to the BB. If there are no new emails at that 3 minute check, it will go back to the 15 minute cycle... but if there are new emails, it will check every 3 minutes until there isnt a new one -- and then go the 15 minute cycle. I think this is the way non-pushed email accounts work on the BB (as gmail and yahoo and the two that support push). So it seems that yahoo mail has lost the ablility to push and the server only checks every 15 minutes.

My inbox WILL sync with my BB, but it can take up to 1 hour to delete message on the BB that were deleted in the yahoo inbox (on internet)
