Default Cheaper alternative to AT&T $40/MO Plan?

Please Login to Remove!

Since im know hardcore user, and I just got a curve from att for $99, is their any cheaper plans or ways to get around this monthly fee

I'd like to be able to stay on AIM constantly, and be able to check my Gmail and also be able to use the gps function if needed, aswell as that new opera mini browser.

Is their any $20 plans anybody uses? I know their are cheaper plans but i don't know how much bandwidth i'd use and i dont want $1k cell bill, is their any cheaper plans beside $40/mo?

basically what i am asking is, I know when i had my iphone, people were able to "trick" att and use the basic $4.99 internet plan.

anything like that for blackberry?

I had the iPhone and the iPhone data plan, unlimited data and 200 text messages. I sold the iPhone and I'm using the BB 8310 but I haven't called AT&T to tell them I've switched phones.

Actually I was at the ATT store yesterday and I think they need to realize that in the past BB's were primarily corporate devices, but now with the Curve and Pearl (especially the Pearl) they need to focus a plan on the consumer market. I would like to see a data plan that includes some text messaging. I would consider a switch to Tmo but their coverage in my area is not so good. The seem to have a better deal on data/SMS.

Sprint is coming out with a new $30/month plan that includes unlimited SMS. There's another thread here about it: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...t-bb-plan.html

Just the Personal/BIS data plan which has already been mentioned. The only way around paying for a data plan is to do without data.

There already are -- look into the "Max" BB data plans.

I'm with AT&T and I have the BB Personal Max plan that has unlimited data and includes 1500 texts a month w/ unlimited mobile to mobile texts to fellow AT&T customers.

I just wish AT&T had a plan like T-Mobile has... 1000 voice minutes plus unlimited data/text for $49.99 or something like that.

There really needs to be better BB plans for us consumer users.

You do not have to have a BB data plan to use your BB. I have the MediaNet unlimited plus 200 text plan ($19.99month) and can use all the features except email getting pushed to the phone. If you use Gmail just download their program and you are set.

I am going to be getting rid of my BES here in the next few days and was looking at the BB data plans. The BIS plan that is $29.99 a month doesnt appear to include Data, so you only get email and no web browsing, is that right?

If that is right then that means you would have to go with the BB Personal Max plan to get the Data and email, true? If so what a rip off, what good is an email only BB especially if it is for personal use, maybe in a corporate setting, but come on!

29.99 with ATT includes data and email unlimited what it doesn't include is any type of messaging other than pay per use!

Stick with Mr. Clarks Advice, TMo if you want to switch, $19.99 regular, $29.99 for corporate. I have had for ages, pretty reliable and decent service.
