Got an 8330 from Amazon. Interesting case in that I've never placed a cellular carrier on it yet it has a phone number, gets time and gps location. It is a Sprint blackberry and I have a sprint account. Would like to get a few free apps on it but have not been able to do so from crackberry and related sites. Would like a podcast organizer/player, excel spreadsheat viewer, and a few other things.

Have appworld and an account installed to a notebook but have not been able to get anything downloaded this way. Seeking guidance

GPS and Time are the basic items of all cell phones. you cannot get any downloads unless you get a carrier. think about it for a minute, Don't you think everyone would like to get a bunch of free apps that work on a cell phone that does not have a carrier plan?.
You may be able to get a few to move from the PC to the phone but if they require any type of network connectivity they wont work.
