It looks like AT&T just enabled HTML emails. But I always have to manually tell the phone to download images. I've even set the "automatically download images" option to "on" in the email settings. Anyone have any idea how to make it always download images, without me prompting it to do so first?

You can't.
You always have to select 'Get Image' from the menu.

I wish that they would set this as a configurable email option in OS 4.5 with all carriers.

If you have had 4.5 they enabled it in like early oct. And yes every email. Eternally annoying. I hope its checked always on bold.

If the image is embedded in the email then it will display, if the image refers to another site where it's hosted, then it will not display unless you select "get images." This is a privacy feature so your IP number is not exposed. i.e. If the image loaded, then a spam site for example would know you opened it.

I agree it's a P.I.T.A. and it would have been nice if RIM allowed us to make that decision, but it is what it is.... for now anyway.

I can never "get the image" when I try to in my hotmail accnt, I have alltel dont know if this makes a difference? Does anyone know why?

Do you have the new OS on your berry? If you do then it may be an issue with hotmail. I installed the new OS on my wife's BB and she still has issues getting images from her hotmail account.

You need to resend the service books but you will still need to request get images if they are hosted
