I tried all the above but when I connect the BB, having the updated Desktop Manager on, it doesn't give any indication that it is updating the OS. I firstly downloaded the newest DM and then the OS 4.5 (Tim Italy). Any ideas why ?

Make sure you've deleted the vendor.xml file. It gets installed twice. It installs during Desktop Manager AND it installs during the OS installation.

Yep. That's why it's step 3 in the instructions and not step 2.

Good luck!

As a favour, can I ask that a link to the latest version to include east asian language be stickied / included as a link in the main 8100 release thread?

Would that be a Chinese, Japanese, Korean version?

What are the east asian version languages you are looking for?

It is doubtful we will sticky a version simply because of the included languages, as that is easy enough to click through the latest OSs to find, really. Each initial post will include a link to the previous OS, and so on. We try to keep the Sticky Notes to a minimum.

There's a link for the East Asian language version in the first post. I added it myself. No need for a separate sticky, I just included it in the same thread.

Default Incredibly slow when opening apps for first time??

My upgrade went without a hitch.... but then the device became very slow.

Opening Messages ... takes forever & then suddenly that works okay after that.

Opening Media Player .... takes forever and then works okay after that

Opening Pictures.... takes forever and then works okay after that

.... seems like the thing is loading the app into memory or initializing something.

Still cant get html emails though I have followed all the steps...:(

Wanchaiman, who is your carrier? Have they upgraded to 2.5 BIS?

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

Have you tried to reformat your media card? Sometimes that helps with the noted issues.

This OS has f@#$%'d up my media files. I can't sync my songs anymore! Whenever I go into Music..there's a white bar on the bottom that says "scanning" and the playlists have old songs on there which should not be on. If I try to 'delete' them, nothing happens...help?

At first this version was a bit slow. But after a second reboot it is great. Stable and I like the font support. I have to admit that the reboot times seems slower but over all the 8100 is performing quite well.
