As long as you follow the instructions at the beginning of the thread, you should have no problems. I'd uninstall all the 3rd party apps first before doing the upgrade and add them back one at a time checking to see whether any of them don't play nice w/ the upgrade. And you may want to backup your SD card and reformat the card after upgrading. I have a Pearl w/ T mobile and the upgrade works just fine. This one does live up to the hype.

Hmmm, can't seem to get 4.5 to install on my phone. What I did first was download and install Desktop Manager 4.5 & os 4.5.0.55. Then connected my phone and launched Desktop manager getting a prompt to update, and after pressing okay Desktop manager remained on its regular screen and my Blackberry maintained the "pc connectivity" screen. This I tried for 2 hours or so before unplugging the usb in which the phone just simply returned to the home screen of 4.2 unchanged and of course usable. Thinking I didn't wait long enough, I tried again except overnight for around 4 hours with the same result. Any idea what's wrong?

Note: I did seem to notice that I can't even get any of the menu options in Desktop Manager to work despite clicking on them if that could have anything to do with it.

installed this one....nice..they finally fixed the camera...no problem..cept for the first time i was updating the software...the power went out for a bit...which reset my comp and left my phone blank and unresponsive...but i was able to reload everything back.

Yep, problem solved..Had to downgrade my Desktop Manager back to 4.3 (4.5 along with media managers for both won't work for me for some reason) and it installed in a little over a hour. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Having a small issue of my own in regards to the desktop manager and the new 4.5.0.55 OS.

Background: Previously running DM 4.2 SP2 and OS 4.2.1.101 on my AT&T 8100.
Upgraded to DM 4.5 and OS 4.5.0.55. I had a few issues as mentioned in my previous post, and finally seem to have everything with the OS worked out.

Now we get into my next issue. While the 4.5 DM seems to work pretty well, I cannot setup my outlook to sync with my phone. I go to the sync setup page and get a runtime error box that says, "cannot find system in table file."

I get the same error on whichever portion of Outlook I try to configure, whether it be my address book, calender or memo/ task pad.

On advice from another memeber, I downgraded my DM with the most "recent" DM that AT&T lists on their site, which happens top by DM 4.3. No joy there. I'm going to try and revert back to DM 4.2 SP2 and see what happens.

Any one else having an issue like this, or know what to do to remedy it?

Thanks Pierre15208 - I did exactly what you said and it work great - Had now problems at all doing the upgrade. Phone work fine. I had to reset the font and some settings, but that is miner.
One question though - For some reason I thought that hearing the music over the blue tooth would work with the new upgrade, was I wrong about that? It doesn't seem to work if it is suppose to.

As fare as the Picture 4 and 6 scroll does not work for me ether.

I've always had the flashing LED, from when I got my pearl to start with, through most versions of 4.2.0(iirc) to 4.5.


Just have to make sure "LED Flashing" is enabled in Profles-> advanced -> phone

I downloaded the latest DM. Deleted the vendor file. Plugged in the BB and opened DM but it's not prompting me for an upgrade. Any suggestions?

Did you install the OS package linked above in the first post? You have to install DM AND the OS package.

Yes, that's well known on the forum. Also, if you do an OS update again, I recommend deleting/renaming DocumentsToGo.alx file so it doesn't downgrade Docs To Go to the original version again.

Loaded the new OS last night. Everything was fine until I tried to lock my keypad by pressing the * key and received an "App Error 200" reset, which reboots the phone entirely. I tried it a few times but still the same error. Any suggestions?
