You might want to move this to the Aftermarket Software section.

Trying it out now, initially it looks great, one of the maps I need doesn't work so I have emailed them. For $2 it is at least a real bargain. FWIW, I couldn't find a trial version on Handango...

Default Toronto, Canada supported by TrafficEdge

I have TrafficEdge which includes Toronto, Canada. You have to select Ontario state first and then subscribe to Toronto.

Chicago and Dallas are not available.

Thanks

Are there screenshots of the maps and stuff posted anywhere? Can't seem to find detailed info on this program.

Very cool...great usability for BB..

Problem is, I downloaded it OTA from their website and it shows 1.1.18 which is supposedly the newest version but there is no place I see where you can enter a registration key?

My biggest pet peeve is I can't seem to find a way to see see a larger image of the camera shots...they show up really small on the 7100.

Anybody else notice this? This app has great promise though..maybe there could be traffic alerts in later versions?

Not too impressed, paid my $2 for it so I could get Chicago traffic maps, but the map doesn't load, support told me some BS story about my Blackberry not having enough memory, of course they didn't know that I am on a 7290 and was running it with over 20Mb available. I'll be emaling Handango for a refund, which was the only solution they had to offer me.

Why they promise traffic maps and show the option in the locations list, only to tell me that it won't work is beyond me...

Although this is pretty cool and very useful for what it does provide, it seems that not all of the traffic cameras are available... The software seems to only provide a few of the 400 and 401 cameras, of the over 60+ available along the 401 (ironically, the Traffic Map option shows all of the actual camera locations, since it's pulled right from the COMPASS web site).

I can't seem to find other highways such as the 427 and QEW included either, nor the Gardiner Expressway or DVP (although to be fair, the Gardiner and DVP are on the RESCU system, which is a City of Toronto system, versus the COMPASS system, which is the Provincial system).

If you got to http://www.edgeq.com/ you can download the trial without paying, so you don't have to worry about handango.

It looks pretty cool, although for Toronto, it only covers the 401 and 400. It would be nice if it covered the downtown core/routes.

Also, I only got it to work on the simulator -- I got the dreaded "Error starting TrafficEdge Module 'te_data' must be signed with the RIM Runtime Code Signing Key (RRT)." Every reference I've seen to this error usually points to needing os4.0 (which i have) or that this app wasn't designed for Blackberry (which it was). So if anyone actually knows why this error occurs, I'd love to know. Same thing happens with any of their software actually.

Btw, the ShopEdge app (which is completely free) is pretty neat for amazon shoppers (even amazon.ca shoppers). Shows pictures, prices, reviews etc. Worth taking a look at IMHO. Also gives you movie showtimes based on zip code. Now if I could only get it to work...

Hmmmm... Mine won't seem to connect. Do the default Cingular settings work on this program? Or do I need to enter some customized ones?

Well I figured out my problem. Turns out that this error means that you don't have the DOD certs installed. Which was true for me. I never thought I would need them. Looks like I do. Everything works fine now.

How did you acquire the DOD certs? How can an average user acquire DOD certs? We do not want to a cert free build because we may not be able to provide software updates without certs.

BTW, we have added a lot more cities and traffic cameras in the last few days. TrafficEdge only supports Department of Transportation (DOT) public cameras and not private cameras.

Thank you for positive comments on the application.

Question: So the beta is now $2.00? I can't find the "free" trial anywhere.

IF this $2 gets me a working, non-expiring piece of software that will show traffic maps and cameras for Washington, DC... I'll grab it in a heartbeat.

any light to be shed on this?

I upgraded my 7520 to OS 4.0.0.319 yesterday and now the option to install the DOD Certs shows up in my Application Loader. I'm not sure how else you would get them.
