Default Metro PCS Blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Verizon Blackberry 8330 that was flashed to Metro PCS.... where can I find apps that are compatible with this service? All of the Blackberry apps I installed give me error messages like "Network Request Failed" "Network Error" "General Socket Error".... a few apps that I'm interested in are: AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, Google Maps, Twitterberry or UberTwitter, MySpace, Facebook, Flickr, etc. Any help is much appreciated!!!!

I dont really know how. I paid a guy to do it. He called it flashing. The Verizon phone now works with the Metro PCS service I have. I can talk, text, send picture messages, and use the browser... but for some reason none of the Blackberry apps work...

You need to have a special BlackBerry Data Plan added to your MetroPCS account. Give them a call.

I tried that.... Metro PCS is telling me that they are unable to add the Blackberry Data Plan because I did not purchase one of their ridiculously expensive Blackberry phones. Apparently, their Blackberry phones have "different stuff on the inside of the phone" (according to the Metro representative I spoke with, haha!). They basically told me I couldnt do it but couldnt tell me why. They sound like they know just as little or less about phones than I do.

Well, whoever flashed the phone for you should have told you that all you'll have is voice and texting.

Default Did anyone figure this out?

Hi, I am a developer for a BlackBerry app that uses the internet, and our Metro PCS customers report this error:
: java.lang.Exception: No Internet connection detected, please restart to try again.java.io.IOException: General socket error.

Is there anything we can do to help? Just curious if someone here got it figured out. Usually we can help our customers by having them change their Internet settings (TCP/IP or APN settings). However, it appears Metro PCS customers don't have those settings. We really don't want to be the stereotypical awful customer support that blames the carrier but in this case is it really a limitation of Metro PCS?

I recently had my 9530 blackberry storm flashed and the only apps that work on mine are opera mini 5 beta, the youtube app, and games from crackberry.
