I am having some strange issues with the built-in Voice Notes Recorder program. When I initiate a recording, it appears to begin fine but then about 5 seconds in the timer on the bottom right seems to freeze. If I continue recording, it will then jump from say 5 or six seconds up to 17 or 18 seconds.

Conversely, if I hit the pause button, nothing actually happens for about 15-20 seconds. After that time the control buttons show up along the bottom allowing me to stop, ff, rew etc.

Then, once I save a recording and play it back, I get my recorded message (showing for the number of seconds it took to record) then silence for the balance of the time on the timer. So when I play back a message that took me say 10 seconds to record, when I start playing it back the timer shows it is maybe 20-30 seconds in total.

I do have Vlingo also installed and I originally thought that this might be the problem but I have unistalled in, done a battery pull and still get the same problem without Vlingo.

This is on a brand new Bold 9700 running OS V5.0.0.743 and the only other apps I have installed are:

Interesting. I also have a 16GB microSD with about 2300 songs. I am sure this is the cause based on your testing (deleting the folder) but I find that kind of strange. You would think there might be a delay when trying to save a file but just hitting the pause button shouldn't affect the storage card. Weird.

Rick76: I think Vlingo might have done this, although my evidence is only circumstantial. I've never had problems with voice notes until yesterday (.714). Yesterday I installed Vlingo. Didn't like it and uninstalled later in the day. Now I'm having the exact problem you describe. May have to reinstall he OS to fix it.

Hmmm, not good to hear but if you do re-install, let me know how you make out. I think I will wait until OS6 is released, then re-instal all my apps but Vlingo and see what happens.

Just an update. I completely wiped and upgraded to the leaked .938 OS and it still didn't work right. i copied everything off my MicroSD card, reformatted, and copied the data back. Voice recorder then worked fine. I reverted to the T-Mobile .714 OS and now it's messing up again. Alas, that's all the effort I'm willing to put into this problem. I'm going to use my digital voice recorder, and like you, hope OS 6 fixes whatever the problem is. I'm guessing, though, it has something to do with my 8gb PNY MicroSD card.

Well, I was going to wait for OS6 but yesterday I decided to upgrade to 5.0.0.862. Still the same problem. I think I am going to address this issue to Vlingo and see if they can provide any assistance. While using Voice Notes like this is a pain, I rely far more on Vlingo and do not want to remove it.

Well I had some correspondence with support at Vlingo but they are telling me they have never heard of this (which I find hard to believe). It did take a couple of emails to make them understand the actual problem though so for all I know, they still don't. Certainly no helpful advice other than to uninstall and re-install, which I have done several times with no change.

So, I guess I will wait for OS6. And I am thinking that we will probably have to wait another 2-3 months after that for Vlingo to make its product compatible with OS6!

when i open memory card out my bb , i see voice notes recorder run very good not fall, but when i stick it back VNR not run. I think the problem on memory card , i will format card may be can fix it.
