Given the 2 choices but the curve having the camera disabled via corporate policy anyway, is one better that the other and why? Both are quad band, EDGE I believe so I think differences are comsmetic/minimal.

The 8820 has a wider keyboard and Wi-Fi. The 8310 has GPS and is a little narrower.

Thanks for the feedback. forgot the WiFi. 8800 also has GPS, use it now on the (broken) one I have.

The 8310 is much easier to type on for me at least. I have the 8820 as a backup but am thinking of selling it since its rarely used except for OS upgrades. The WiFi is about the only thing better on it for me.

With any BB model selection the biggest issues tend to be subjective. Consider the features you need/want and whatever preferences you have for keyboard, form factor/size. The "better" model is the one that suits you best. The "better" model for me is obviously the 8310 (see my profile to the left of this message) but that's probably not relevant to you unless your needs/wants are identical to mine.
