Because befor you load the OS on it erses everything but not before making a backup. After the new OS files ar laoded on it leods all the other prgrams on like mmim an eoffice opera mini shark modem ect.

Look at the version of BBMessenger under Options >Advanced Options >Applications. Is it 4.2.1? I'm betting it is. That was loaded with the new OS. It's INCLUDED with the OS. If you're having a problem with it, delete it from the device and reload it using Application Loader.

And it works fine with the version of 4.2 I loaded about 2 months ago.
