Default OS: 8310 4.5.0.254/4.5.0.161 (EastAsia & English)

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.254 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 4.5.0.254
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.161
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.105
* File name: 8310EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel254_PL2.7.0.105_A4.5.0.16 1_Hutchison.exe
* File size: 87.64MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download Here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...0C70DD149FA4A7

This download is from Hutchison but will work on ANY carrier's 8300 model BB. (Not 8300, 8320 or 8330)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Default Old version?

Thanks. Downloaded but the app loader thiks it's an older version. I have in mine now v4.5.0.163, Platform 2.7.0.92 yet this package is supposed to be .161 but platfom .105 so I am not sure what i should allow to downgrade or not. What takes precedence - the package version or the platform? Seems there is a mix, sometimes the package has a higher number, a lower version number but higher platform number.

I had loaded 4.5.0.163(257) but it was a complete battery killer. Within a few hours I was down 50%. I have rolled back to this version 4.5.0.161(254) and have been running fine over the weekend.

So why would it complain that the .092 is later than .105?

I felt the same way about 4.5.0.163. Total battery killer and memory hog. I tried running a hybrid version for a while (Apps 4.5.0.163, Platform 2.7.0.105) but to no avail. I downgraded to 4.5.0.161 and have had no problems to speak of.

I'm running the OPs version with almost no problems. No battery drain, and no memory leaks. The only issue I've had was with Custom Profiles. I had to go back and remake those entirely. But that's not a big deal, at least not for me.

Hi guys,

I have also a 8310, but I was looking to the latest OS version, so are you saying that the latest version we should upgrade is OS 4.5? I was thinking to try OS 4.7 or 5.0, are they not for BB 8310?

Thanks
