Default OS: 9000 Bold 4.6.0.501/4.6.0.292 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

Software For BlackBerry® Bold (TM) 9000 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.501 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.6.0.501
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.0.292
* Software Platform: 4.0.0.241
* File name: 9000M_PBr4.6.0_rel501_PL4.0.0.241_A4.6.0.292_Telec omunicaciones_Movilnet_C.A.exe
* File size: 96.79MB

Download the OS file here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...y9eKfv8G82cw**

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Previous OS version here:

thanks to jungleland for finding this

This is not the ATT specific version that is coming out on the 25th for those that care. For all we know its basically the same.

Does this OS have the switch ribbon menu key hold down feature, and does it have the 2G/3G option of .282?

Well this suck...Back to .167 as that is the "PREFERRED" version

Wonder if RIM is building this into DM now...not allowing cross carrier installations...Just your carriers branded OS

It pulls the other versions off your internet connection, disable the internet then it will only recognize what you have installed on your PC.

I have mentioned this before but no one cared to investigate this further.

At least that's what i do.

Good tip. I too have the same problem. Will only install the preferred, and not what I have installed. Will try that. Thanks.

Thank you and please report back if successful.

P.S. I think there's an option to disable this when you initially install desktop manager, (automatic update).

Don't try to install via DM. Go via Apploader. -- This is an issue since we upgraded to DM 5.0

This version also includes the 3G/2G switching capability. Hopefully it doesn't have the battery life issues of the other version with this capability... *keeps fingers crossed*

I just upgraded... No issues, except some weird behavior from App World. All applications appear as archived. Had to "restore" them one by one.

Looking forward to hopefully better battery life.

I was having trouble installing it using DM 4.7 but what I did was uninstall DM 4.7 and all the BlackBerry OS from computer then installed DM 4.6 and everything went fine. Their maybe better ways but this one worked for me. Good luck.

Might as well skip this one... Again, major battery life issues, since I installed this just a few hours ago, my battery is down to 50% with little to no use... Looks like I'll be switching back to old version tomorrow... *sigh*

So far so good, I installed it on my Rogers BOLD and noticed it still has the 2G/3G/2G & 3G options!
