Default Opening a pop up reminder for recurring appointment always opens series

Please Login to Remove!

9780 with 6.0.0.448.

On my Bold 9000 running OS4.6, and every Blackberry I've had before that, if a reminder popped up for a recurring appointment, and I clicked Open, it would ask if I wanted to open this occurrence or the series.

On the 9780 with OS6, it usually just opens the series without asking, and that's usually not what I want. Just occasionally, it asks like it should.

Is everyone else seeing the same behaviour? Is it fixed in a more recent build?

Note that it works fine if I open a recurring appointment directly from the calendar, this is only about opening them from popped up reminders.

There are a lot of members who are using OS6, so I'm sure someone will chime in and let you know if what you're experiencing is normal for the OS or not. It's a holiday week(end), so things may be a little slower on the forum than usual.

Thanks for the warning. What's a holiday week? It certainly isn't one in Australia.

I wonder if I should have posted in the OS6 forum instead. There are so many OS5 users in this forum, and probably always will be, that it almost warrants a new forum for the 9780.

Is cross posting allowed here?

Still no takers on this one? I've just upgraded to 6.0.0.668, and the problem's still there.

6.0.0.706, still there. Doesn't anyone else use recurring reminders?

I use reoccurring calendar events and so far dont have the issue. I checked for any reported issues at RIMs support site and find nothing. I may be not understanding what your seeing but on my BB it shows only one listing for the time and day. I have the display set to day. If I set it to addenda it shows the series. If this is the problem check your options.

The problem only occurs if I click the Open button when a recurring reminder POPS UP. Prior to OS6 (and maybe OS5?) it used to ask if I wanted to open the occurrence or the series. Now it opens the series without asking, and it's very inconvenient.

Can you please check what happens for you when a recurring reminder pops up?

5 days and no response. I'm finding this bug is having a big impact on the usefulness of this phone for organising my life, but I'm really struggling to get anyone else to even understand what the problem is.

Still having the problem, but also an interesting development.

When I first tried OS 6 with 6.0.0.448, opening a recurring popup just occasionally asked if I wanted to open the occurrence or the series. I've since upgraded the OS several times, and this has stopped happening.

I've now been on 6.0.0.723 for a couple of weeks, and yesterday I was asked the question for one popup.

I can't imagine what sort of bug would trigger the question just occasionally. There must be something about the events that tricks it into not realising it's recurring.
