Default Why do people post their pin #'s here??????

Please Login to Remove!

a huge harvested list of pin #'s could mean hundreds of thousands of dollars, for whoever maintains this list of pin #'s........

Users of this site, or the owners could harvest all the listed pin #'s, and sell to marketers for $$$

That is the last thing i would do, is post my pin # on here, and eventually get xxxxxx, stock spam, and other crap to my bb in the form of SMS or other forms of messages.

what is this websites position on this?

do you guys maintain a list of all posted pin #'s? if so, do you sell it to 3rd party individuals?

if you don't, im sure there are trolls here who harvest that information.......

No harm i mean towards this site, but this seems shady that people would un willingly post their pin # here.....

ALGolfer,

No, the owner of this site does not harvest, nor keep a list of the PINs listed in profiles. There is no list to be sold to third parties.

At this point, to spam a PIN, one must enter the PIN manually in their own BB, and the recipient is quite easily identifiable from the received PIN message.

While I don't post my publicly on this Forum or others, I have not heard another user mention they have received spam from being posted here. It is just not that easy to do so.

The reason they are posted? Because this is a community, and some users post their PIN for communication between users. Simple as that.

You, like I, may choose to not do so.

We do not maintain a list of pins. I had my pin listed here (before becoming a mod) and never got any pin message spam.
