I agree, but I cannot work out in my mind how I will be able to buy a tablet that I own and have it be a productive tool that will sync with my BES tied Blackberry. I cannot see a policy where I could expose data unprotected without requiring password lock and remote wipe by the corporate admins.

Why Blackberry still stick to the Dual Core processor. why not jump up to the Dual installed Intel i7 2.0 Ghz make the tablet super fast.

They always reserve more than 50% of the so called "Room for improvement"

AS we can see, the playbook's size and the shape, the screen were all totally 90% perfect to any user.

I'm one of the users who will step out and buy it as soon as it comes available from my pocket and now wait to see if our company will get one for the "road warriors". I had an iPad, returned it within 24 hours. I think this will just be a perfect fit for me. Can't wait!

Somebody hasn't a clue about mobile devices and mobile OS. Core i7 is NOT/Never was/Never will be a fit for a mobile tablet OS - unless its the full Windows. Mobile OS or smartphone OS NEED a power efficient ARM cpu - its the most powerful, it offers Symmetric Multi-Processing and its just more efficient at lower cpu cycles and if coded correctly does NOT require huge amounts of RAM to be powerful and energy efficient.

Right now this is the ONLY Dual-Core cpu in ANY smarpthone/Tablet announced - officially. The Tegra2 - which uses Cortex A9 architecture has 8 processors; 2 Dual-Core CPUs - while the other 8 are for memory controller, baseband, DSP, etc not application cores.

I really believe RIM should have this with WLAN+BT2.1 EDR released but quickly follow-up with an HSPA unit (1080P video conferencing will NEED better than 7.2Mbps down and 2Mbps uploads - current BB's and over BT (bluetooth 2.1EDR) does not support that kind of bandwidth - using inferior codecs is a bad move if that is what RIM is planning.

I think I'll wait on the Playbook. I can live without the ipad/playbook for now, I can only imagine how much better and cheaper they'll be in a couple of years.

I have read several articles and watched the RIM video "pumping its tires". It looks like a great device! I like that it is smaller. I like the fact that it has a camera on the back and the front. I like that it has a usb port. There are so many things that it outdoes the ipad on. I think apps are the only downfall but I am sure that there will be improvements in that department.

Well 50 apps available/submitted and readily approved last week does NOT sound too bad at all; especially since Q1 2012 for RIM just begun less than 1 week ago. This doesn't ship until the end of Q1 not a bad head start. Providers are going INSANE for this already here in Canada.

Motorola's Xoom to debut in CES2011 doesn't have the camera specs to match.

Had an iPad for a while and don't really see a lot of pluses for it. Just started looking into the Blackberry Playbook and so far I'm intrigued by the possibilities. It seems more along the lines of what I would use than the iPad ever was.

What are your hangups with the ipad that you hope to avoid with the playbook? I'm of the same mindset, just wondering what your reasons were.
