Default Pound sign

Please Login to Remove!

Good morning. This might be a dumb question, but I did a search and didn't come up with anything. My husband got a blackberry recently, his first one, and he is frustrated b/c he can't figure out how to type the pound sign. If he's using an automated phone service (for example to dial into his bank and find out how much money is in the acct or whatever) that requires him to type in the pound sign, he can't get thru the menus b/c he doesn't know how. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

On the 8800 (I can't speak for other models), just hit the key #/Q without using cap. or Alt. That will type the # sign when entering numbers.

On the 71XX models, when dialing a number (or while on a call), pressing the #/Shift key (to the left of the 0/Space) will get a # sign.

P.S. Is that you Terri?

This perplexed me too and I couldn't figure it out. I have the 8700g (TMobile) and it appears all I have to do is hit the # key with no modifier. Not that intuitive as everywhere else on the BBerry, those symbols require a modifer key press to access them.

This is probably a case where I was thinking too much and making ASS-umptions about what I was supposed to do.

Hit the # or the ALT/# to enter it.
