Hi,

Do I have to be registered on a BIS for my email account (Gmail) to show up in profiles so I can add an alert?

Will I be charged by Vodafone if I register on their BIS, as my curve is originally a Vodafone curve but is now unlocked and I am using my T-Mobile Web & Walk sim?

Yes, you must have your emails setup in BIS in order to get it in your profiles. You must have it setup in order to get the emails delivered to your device. You can't get BIS setup through Vodafone for your TMobile sim card account. I don't believe the TMo Web & Walk plan includes Blackberry data either.

The only charges you can get for using your Curve are from the sim card provider. It doesn't matter what device you're using the sim card in.

Thanks for your answer, I am receving my emails through Gmail without any problems except for the fact that I cant have an alert sound when they arrive, which is what I need!

Web & Walk is great and really good value as it is more or less unlimited, I am very happy with the web browsing and email I get on my curve using Web & Walk

So registering my curve with Vodafone wont help me either?

If I understand you correctly if I register with them I will be charged for my emails like a blackberry data plan?
