Default Message Storage

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

hoping one of you can shed some light on an issue I have with my storm

I currently have my message options set to retain 30 days of messages, but i am consistently finding that it holds far less, normally around 2 weeks. I can't work out if it's cutting off based on volume (currently holds about 690 according to the database size page but would estimate this to be less than a quarter of the emails i've sent and received in the last 30 days), or days, but I know that it has less than I want it to!

if i scroll to the bottom of the message list, i can see records of phone calls i've made and received as far back as the 21st of Jan, which would be roughly 30 days, but the oldest email i have is from the 18th of feb, which is about 5 days.

Is there a setting other than the obvious email options that I've missed? does the BB auto delete emails when you run low on app memory?

appreciate any help.

Cheers

Do you delete messages from your email server?

yes, but normally not within the month. I.e my inbox has >1500 emails from the last 30 days. And the sent box would be > 500 for the last month...

Seems strange.

What's your file free at Options > Status?

just over 27mb at the moment.. average would be between 10 and 20 depending on what ive got running and how long since last reboot.

I had a run last week where it got pretty low (around 2mb) but issue was happening before that.

Memory under 10mb is susceptible to loss of emails, SMS and call logs. Get and keep it up around 15mb + free

That's where your missing messages went.
