Unhappy BB Pearl 8110 will not connect to any PC

Please Login to Remove!

I have read every other thread on this topic and I have tried everything that was said with no success, so I decided to ask myself. My phone is a BB Pearl 8110 and it worked great until the other day when it stopped connecting to my PC. I hooked it up to 3 different computers and none of them detected it. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the software that came with it, I changed USB cords. I took off the battery, I even completely wiped out the phone and started over and still no computer would detect it. Then I took my brothers BB Pearl 8100 and plugged it in and my computer immediately recognized it. I'm completely out of ideas, If anyone knows what the possible problem is please let me know. Thanks for any help!

does it charge when you plug it in? It sounds like the USB port might have gotten damaged.

And occasionally when I plug it in I get an error message that says "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

Wirelessly posted (8100 Pearl)

Have you tried upgrading DTM. It will also upgrade the needed USB drivers. Its possible that some sort of windows update threw things out. I used to get that problem occasionally. No issues since I upgraded to DTM 4.5 or 4.6.

I downloaded 4.6 from the BB website, and installed it. And my computer still didn't recognize my phone when I plugged it in. So I uninstalled 4.6 and reinstalled the 4.3 software that came with my phone.

Just for curiosity. You said you wiped it completely. How did you do that ??
Did you use JL-Cmdr ? if you did so then it was able to recognize it and connect ....

I am having the same problem with my 8703e. I am about to pull my hair out! In addition to everything mentioned above, I have downloaded the JL_Cmdr program and after attempting to connect 8 - 10 times I gave up. Help.

I had a similar issue with an actual pc and with a few XP VMs running on a Mac in Parallels. The USB driver on the PC was actually screwed and wouldnt update because it says that its already the most current. On the one PC I had to replace usbscan.sys with a version from another machine that never had BB software installed. As for the VMs. I dunno, I just cant get it to work well with them and I am assuming its got to be something in the virtual path not getting translated properly into the VM.

Another time I had to find another PC that never had BB software installed and update my phone OS from that machine. Once I did that I was able to then connect to another machine that I previously could not. Good thing I have about 10 pcs at my command

Thumbs up

If you use BB 8110 that could not connect with your PC, please send me your e-mail I will send you two system files that need for your BB 8110 driver.
Or

You should do by this way:

- You install your BB Destop Software for PC

- You download my zip file, unzip and copy these two file to: C:...Windows - System32 - Driver. You finish your work and connect your BB 8110 to you PC. If your BB works well, please thanks me via e-mail.....hihihihi!
Good lucks
