i've installed the software for my blackberry 8130 and connected the phone via usb. The computer recognizes the the phone is plugged in but the desktop manager software does not recognize that it is plugged in. any suggestions on what to do?

First thing to troubleshoot would be to remove the BlackBerry from the USB.

Powered on, remove the battery on the BlackBerry a few seconds, replace it and allow the device to reboot.

Meanwhile, power off your PC, and reboot it.

Then, connect your BlackBerry to the USB, a main rear USB port...not a front USB port, monitor port or a USB hub.

Then start Desktop Manager.

Any luck?
