Software Now Available as a Free Download with New BlackBerry Device Purchase

Waterloo, ON - Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced the immediate availability of BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express™, a new offering aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, branch offices and companies new to BlackBerry. BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express provides the same enterprise-level security, reliability, features and functionality of BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.1 and is available as a free download from RIM via the Internet to any customer who purchases a new BlackBerry device.*

"Mobile access is an increasingly essential requirement of doing business and this is especially prevalent in smaller businesses," said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at RIM. "BlackBerry Enterprise Server is renowned for helping companies become more productive and responsive, while providing industry-leading security, functionality, manageability, and back-end integration. With BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express, we're now making it easier than ever for new customers to derive the full benefits of the BlackBerry solution."

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express provides tight integration with Microsoft® Exchange, IBM® Lotus® Domino® or Novell® GroupWise® to enable secure, pushed-based wireless access to email, organizer, Internet and intranet applications. BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express software comes with a single user license and is upgradeable to support up to 15 users (with purchase of additional client access licenses). It can also be upgraded beyond 15 users (with the purchase of an electronic unlock key) to a full BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express also includes RIM's standard 60 day free technical support plan (where available). For further information about BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express, please visit: www.blackberry.com/go/express .

* BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express requires applicable data service from a mobile service provider. Certain availability restrictions may apply. Check the website for further details.

What can you do with a single license? I'd like at least two to support my wife and I off of one exchange server at home. Would that idea still be possible off two single licenses?

...or am I way off?

Thanks,
Steve

You need a 'BES data plan' for yout BB too ("applicable data service from a mobile service provider"). This may be somewhat more than you pay for a BIS service.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I went to the website and filled out the information requested but was not given the ability to download the app from their site. Did I miss something or will they be mailing the software out? If anyone else has had a different experience please post a reply.

Jay
